Review: Gabrielle's offers a very elegant dining
atmosphere. The food here is prepared with wonderful presentation.
Color and flavor are well balanced with a menu that is broad
and aggressive. The wine list offers a wonderful selection of
wine. The Bar room offers an opportunity to enjoy a cocktail
secluded from the restaurant. A great place for entertaining
out of town guests, as well as business dinners.
Gabrielle's has built a greenhouse
behind the restaurant in the fall of 2005, where the Chef now
grows a variety of fresh organic herbs and vegetables.

Review: The menu has been revised
with more choices on Mondays, and the wine list is quote unusual
with many Spanish and Italian selections. They now have a new
deserts that you order in advance of your meal, and they are
extremely good. Food presentation is wonderful, as well as the
quality and taste. The stemware is a pleasure to drink from.

During the winter months, this

of the large fireplace which burns HOT in the tap room. Cozy
couches to enjoy the fire while waiting for dinner, or to enjoy
a drink.
Review: This building was an
old brush factory in the 1800's, and still has the original pulley
and power belt system suspended from the ceilings, which adds
a lot of character to this restaurant. Outside of the building
is a beautiful waterfall, directly on the Pattaconk brook, that
once powered the old factory.
The Sage offers
a nice Prime Rib dish. The portion and quality are very
good but arrive early as Prime rib unually sells out before nights
end. The wine list has recently become a bit sparce, but there
are still some nice choices that you will enjoy.
During our last
visit, we had an inconsistant experience. Our server was new
to serving, and failed to communicate with the kitchen properly.
Parts of our meal were not prepared as requested, and timing
of delivery of some dishes were not as requested.
Sadly, the property
is experienceing some serious septic issues, and the odor of
sewage at the end of our meal was completely overpowering, ruining
what was otherwise an OK Meal. What a shame too, because the
atmosphere of the building is spectacular, including on walking
over a covered bridge to enter the restaurant. I will rate the
atmosphere as if there will be no septic odor present.

This is ideal for tasting a variety of items on the menu.
Pretty much every

The Friday night after Christmas

we did not expect what we were served. Out meal was so fantastic,
that we both were so pleasantly surprised. I had the Atlantic
salmon dish, that was prepared perfectly. Presentation, temperature,
flavor, and texture of the fish was just incredible. The vegetables
were also prefect with rich flavors. My wife ordered the sliced
sirloin steak, which was served exactly as she asked for it (Medium
Rare) and was wonderful. Service was friendly are timing was
good. You should note that when we sat down to eat, the restaurant
was at 100% capacity. We sat at the only open 2 seat table. For
the kitchen to serve food of this quality under full house conditions,
is really impressive, at ANY restaurant. Our meal definitely
was a 4 star meal, but will hold on upgrading the rating until
we have one more visit to see if this remains consistent.

Restaurant review:
This is an
enjoyable Italian Bistro restaurant that is tucked quietly across
the street from the Historic Goodspeed Opera House, and Gelston
House. It offers a great Bar room with ample seating for groups
as large as 40 people, including 15 seats at the bar. They usually
serve food until 9:30PM. The main dining room is large, and offers
a nice dining atmosphere. In September 2006, they opened a new
section that nearly doubled the restaurant's Capacity yp to about
120 people
The menu offers
a large selection of Italian dishes. Bread is baked on the premises,
and is wonderful. There is a special seasoned bread stick that
they make that is nicely seasoned with Italian spices and garlic.
It is to die for!
TIP: Wednesday thru Saturday,
La Vita Gustosa has the BEST overall bartender in Eastern Connecticut!!!.
If you can get a seat at "Peter
Marshall's Bar" which only offers 16 seats!, Peter is well known
for NEVER letting a patron go dry, and excellent friendly service
if you wish to eat at the Bar. I dare you to order a Martini
from Peter, and not be impressed with his presentation... I double
dare you to pick it up after he serves it to you, and sip from

Review: This very small restaurant
(about 45 seats) exceeded my expectations from its exterior appearance.
Walking through the doors I felt transported to a small dessert
town in the middle of no place in Arizona. Immediately greeted
at the door with a friendly smile, we were seated within 8 minutes,
after being told that the wait was 30 minutes. Service was very
FAST and friendly! The liquor "tequila" is practically
worshiped at this restaurant. They go out of their way to educate
you about tequila, and they have a menu that is almost entirely
dedicated to drinks made with tequila. The main course I ordered
was the Coyote Combo. It was HOT, great presentation, and delicious.
Portion size was generous, and prices were very reasonable. Service
was excellent, and drinks were replaced in a timely fashion.
An all around very good meal. After talking with a few people,
I learned that that do not take reservations, yet waits can reach
45 minutes+, however the food is worth the wait! My only negative
comment is that the mens bathroom was a "very" small
room, but I'll be back!

Review: This restaurant review
is outside of our local norm. Located inside a busy casino at
the Mohegan Sun Resort. We arrived here as a happen stance, and
had no reservations, which we learned are needed to be made days
in advance of your dining visit. The hostess was very polite,
and suggested we visit the Bar room, and if we managed to get
a seat at one of the three tables, or at the bar, they would
serve us dinner. Luckily we did manage to get seats within 10
minutes, and experienced a wonderful meal. The 32oz Prime Rib
dressed in a Cowboy setup was sold out, but it was strongly recommended
to get the Kansas City 24oz Steak which they would dress up with
the cowboy setup. The meat was grilled to perfection! The side
of creamed spinach with cheese was delicious. The bar offered
a fine selection of your better quality liquor and wine. I enjoyed
a very well made margarita on the rocks with no salt. Service
was terrific across the board, and mind you that this restaurant
which seats several hundred people was completely packed. Any
restaurant that can handle a full house with great service is
doing something right.

Review: This restaurant review
is outside of our local norm. Located inside a busy casino at
the Mohegan Sun Resort. We were greeted immediately upon arriving
for our reserved seating time. (Reservations recommended). Our waitress was good, but had the potential
of getting a better rating if she had paid a little more attention
to detail. The portions were terrific if you like a hearty meal,
and the New York Cheese cake desert was a fabulous 3 stars with
fresh strawberries, and a blackberry sauce. For a Tuesday evening,
the restaurant was completely full.
